Certification Overview

Certified XP Practitioner (LAI-CXP) is a designation provided to someone who completes the Learning Objectives for XP Practitioner and demonstrates the knowledge to perform this role. Extreme Programming is one of the most popular and used Agile Framework. Extreme Programming (XP) is a software development approach especially geared for agile teams facing vague or rapidly changing requirements. XP is a style of software development focusing on excellent application of programming techniques, clear communication, and teamwork to accomplish the goals of productivity and quality. 

This course provides the learners with the knowledge of XP Values, Principles and Practices.

 

This course not only helps the Agile Teams to achieving technical excellence but also helps other roles including Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Development Managers etc to become acquainted with XP Values, Principles and Practices and help to provide the environment and coaching to Agile Teams to prepare them for success with productivity and confidence. 

 
Learning Objectives

After going through LAI-CXP certification course, the learners are able to:

  2. Describe the Extreme Programming Values and Principles.

  3.  Explain 12 Practices of Extreme Programming – the Core Practices.

  4. Describe XP Events, Artifacts and Roles.

  5. Understand the cultural shift and resistance behind adopting Extreme Programming Principles and Practices.

  6.  Explain the approaches and methods to plan and track a successful Extreme Programming project.

  7. Describe a Roadmap to apply Extreme Programming.

  8. Demonstrate the benefits of XP - Delivering software that performs required tasks and meets expectations, accurate estimation of time to completion and cost of development, opportunity to decide which features to include and which to defer, frequent small releases that incorporate continual customer feedback and constant integration and automated testing that insures clean code and robust performance.

  9. Explain Test Driven Development and TDD Cycle – Red, Green and Refactor.
